We have wide ranging experience of working in many types of commercial environment from high tech data suites and media broadcast and upload facilities to offices, workshops, dock side works, tempory site facilities such as running power to site huts and canteens etc.
WISL's electrical arm is registered on the Electrical Safety Register via the NICEIC and is licensed to carry out domestic electrical works, and carries out the full scope of domestic electrical work including rewires, consumer unit changes, fault finding and repairs and certifying Part P Building Regulation compliance using our comprehensive electrical inspection, testing, reporting and certification service.
As responsible electricians and electrical engineers and to comply with BS7671 / the IEE wiring regulations and our legal obligations under the Electricity at Work Act and Part P of the Building Regulations we employ a stringent testing and reporting regime.
This regime is in place to manage and record the quality of our ongoing works, new installations and repairs.
For existing customer installations we carry out what has been recently re badged " EICR "
Electrical Installation Condition Reports, formally known as Periodic Inspection Reports, or you may have heard the term fixed wire testing or periodic inspections
This is the testing of an existing installation whish is normally every 5 years for commercial installations and 10 years for domestic installations.
We have found a massive rise in people asking for EICRs as they struggle to sell houses that have had un licensed and non certified electrical works carried out in the recent past, commercial properties that have had little if any electrical maintenance, or design or recording of additions or adaptions going back as much as 50 years, which are incredibly dangerous to life and potential fire risks.
Both commercial and domestic insurers and mortgage lenders are tightening the noose on electrical safety and requiring clients to comply with their minimum legal requirements.
BEWARE you must realise that it is the law that you only employ whether for domestic or commercial electrical installations, modifications or repairs, properly qualified and experienced electricians who can carry out work in accordance with BS7671 and test and certify work in accordance with BS7671 and that proper records are kept.
If you are in any doubt on any of the above please do not hesitate to contact us ASAP so that we can rapidly resolve the situation and get you compliant.
